Romans 10:14-15 says:
14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard?[a] And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
With Romans 10:14-15 weighing at the forefront of my mind, I’d like to share with you about a dear friend of mine who is preparing to do extraordinary things for the Kingdom. I met Emily Tuttle during my first summer at Teen Missions International. Her parents, Amber and Brian Tuttle led the trip and their whole family was a great blessing to me during my experience in Peru. I fondly called the Tuttles “my summer family” and they have been a continual source of support and love even though I haven’t seen them since the summer of 2012.
Emily is now pursuing what God has laid on her heart to do: serve for 6 months with YWAM. For those who don’t know, YWAM is an incredible mission organization that mobilizes youth across the globe. Emily has selected to go to their Hawaii base but not just for the beautiful beaches and tropical weather. This base specializes in media, photography, and film which are all passions of my dear friend. She is committing her talents to serve God and bring glory to him. After training in Hawaii she’ll be sent to do mission work with her newfound skills abroad in a country in Asia.
It was laid on my heart to share her story. Friends, John Piper concisely stated:
“Go, send, or disobey”
Though this may sound harsh, it really lines up with what the Gospel shares. We are called to spread the Gospel no matter the distance, the circumstances, or the cost. I understand we can’t all at this moment pick up and go abroad but there is no reason not to financially and prayerfully support those who are. Please prayerfully consider financially supporting this young missionary. If you would like to donate, please read her blog here and there are directions on how to support her on her page and a little more about her heart for this ministry pursuit.
“Oh how beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news”
